The St Lawrence Surgery

I have just read the latest newsletter. I find them informative as I only joined the surgery a few months ago. Unlike my previous surgery, I have found that the care at St Lawrence is personal and centred around me as a patient and a person. When seeing my GP, Dr English, she gives me equal input and makes me feel that what I say matters. It makes a huge difference when you feel equal. Like you have control. That feeling of dignity and respect is so empowering. It means that I share responsibility with my doctor, with both of us working together to come to the best outcome. Person centred patient care like this is also practised by the nurses, receptionists and other doctors I have seen at the surgery. I never thought I would find a surgery that made me feel I mattered, like our family doctor made me feel as a child. St Lawrence surgery make me feel I matter.

We consider ourselves very fortunate to be patients at St Lawrence Surgery. Nurses, Doctors are very professional but at the same time helpful and caring. We love having the pharmacy attached to the surgery as well.

I have just read the latest news letter. They are always so informative. I think St Lawrence is a great surgery and there is lots going on. I don't make use of things due to work commitments but know people who do. I must get round to going to one of the education evenings . I think I could learn a lot about different illnesses etc. I suffer from Hay Fever and recently was given one of the leaflets about self care. I wish I'd seen this sort of thing years ago. It looks as if this was produced by the surgery and the PPG- well done on the collaboration.

I have been registered at the St Lawrence Surgery for many years and the care I have always received is exemplary. The receptionists are always helpful and friendly, the nursing staff first class, and the doctors take the time to listen and discuss thoroughly any suggested treatments. I cannot speak highly enough of this Practice.

Just been to the surgery today, receptionists went out of their way to fit me in at a time that i could manage with coming from work . Seem to have a can do attitude Have to say this is such a change from my previous practice before we moved house.
